This is due to the perfectly suited altitude, reliable year round climate, and pure rich volcanic organic soils. Historically, Alor Island Indonesian Vanilla Beans have been hand pollinated and harvested for hundreds of years, and are sought out above all other Vanilla beans for their highly favourable flavour characteristics.

Due to the extremely reliable and consistent growing conditions, this leads to a beautifully scented bean with very high Vanillin content (the active ingredient that provides Vanilla’s delicious and luxurious flavour profile). Indonesia now supplies approximately two thirds of the famous Bourbon Vanilla globally.
